As at March 22, 1933, it was reported that 2500 impressions had been printed. Watanabe Shoichiro believes this was an exaggeration and examining a sample of 150 prints also suggests that two-fifths of impressions were printed after 1933 approx confirming an exaggeration.
All together approx 3000 prints were reportedly printed between 1925 and 1950. This quantity is consistent with observable cherry keyblock wear. At about 1950 Watanabe Shozaburo decided the block set was too damaged and worn for further prints and, rather unusually for the publisher, chose not to recut a new keyblock.
