New Eight Views of Japan (oban) 新日本八景

Series of 8 landscape prints (and 4 bijinga by Yamakawa Shuho) published by Bijutsusha of Tokyo. Two of the 8 prints were dated in 1927. Some prints have red approval seals and some black seals, and it is unknown whether the colour or location of the seal describes an earlier print. Many Bijutsusha/oban prints did not have seals and at least one was recarved - Kiso River. This series was recarved in April 1931 at postcard size and again in 1974 at chuban size.
